Our relationship with the moon sits at the intersection of science, mythology, exploration, and art.

Whether acting as a muse, a natural calendar, a shadowy keeper of secrets, or an illuminating friend, the moon has always fulfilled our collective need to come together under its powerful influence.

When the moon is in full bloom, it’s time to party.

On Friday November 1, Unscripted Durham will host the Bull Moon Ball fundraiser benefitting Durham’s Museum Of Life And Science and Keep Durham Beautiful, a community organization focused on bringing ecological awareness to the city and its surrounding areas.

At the center of this universe of sustainability, sociability, and community is The Museum Of The Moon, an epic touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram.

Measuring over 23 feet in diameter, the work features photo realistic 120dpi NASA imagery of the moon’s craters, flats, and highlands. The structure’s 1:500,000 scale allows guests to gain incredible access to its previously unexplored terrains.

The breathtaking, site specific installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, cinematic moonlight, and surround sound compositions by composer Dan Jones.

Creative programming for this charity event will include hand crafted cosmic cocktails, music, local beers, and a range of delicious hors d’oeuvres from light bites to hearty snacks.

Interested in following up your moonlit festivities with a killer brunch the next day? Book a room on property and let us handle the rest!
